Why the name? Because everything in my life has been unorthodox, and it just fits who I am. If you’ve already tasted my cakes, you wouldn’t believe the first time I made cookies they were awful. Not just awful, but barely edible. I was 13 years old and may have gotten a little overzealous after watching endless episodes of Cake Boss. Years later, post college, Nailed It! shows up on Netflix. And it sparked that desire to bake again. So after a year of trial of error… The Unorthodox Baker was born.
